MLK Day Camp

Our MLK Day Book Club Camp is a fun, engaging day designed for young readers in pre-K through 2nd grade. All reading levels are welcome. Throughout the day, children will enjoy picture book read-alouds paired with hands-on activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and connection, along with games and opportunities to move and play.<br><br>In addition to picture books, children will also have the option to explore chapter books or graphic novels, depending on interest and reading level. Activities include creative crafts, games, and hands-on experiments, all thoughtfully connected to the books we read.<br><br>This camp is hosted at Milly's in South Tampa and led by experienced educators from Little South Tampa Book Club. Milly's is an event space located on MacDill Ave at 2718 MacDill Ave. <br><br>Half Day Cost: $90<br>After registering, a Venmo or PayPal request will be sent within 24 hours to complete enrollment.<br><br>Campers will enjoy snack time (please bring a snack from home).<br><br>All children should bring a water bottle.<br>

Storybook Adventures Book Club (Ages 4–5)

Storybook Adventures Book Club (Ages 4–5)<br>Thursdays 4:00–5:00 PM at Peninsular Prep (4002 S. Coolidge Ave Tampa, FL 33611).<br>This book club is open to children ages 4-5 from all schools!<br><br>Tuition is $35 per week, per session.<br>-Families will receive a Venmo or PayPal request on the day of the club for that week’s session.<br><br>*ALL reading levels welcome! The teacher will read the story aloud.<br><br>This playful, story-centered book club is designed especially for our youngest readers. Each week, children will enjoy a carefully chosen picture book that invites imagination, curiosity, and adventure. After the read-aloud, we’ll gather for a gentle group discussion, giving children a chance to share ideas, make predictions, and talk about the story in a fun and supportive way. We’ll then bring the book to life with a hands-on activity, such as a craft, game, movement activity, or imaginative play, that connects to the story and keeps kids engaged.<br><br>Storybook Adventures focuses on helping children build confidence, listening skills, and a love of books while having fun with peers in a warm, small-group setting.<br>

K-2 Science Explorers Book Club

Science Explorers Book Club (Grades K–2)<br>Tuesdays 4:00–5:00 PM at Peninsular Prep (4002 S. Coolidge Ave Tampa, FL 33611).<br>This book club is open to K-2 children from all schools!<br><br>Tuition is $35 per week, per session.<br>-Families will receive a Venmo or PayPal request on the day of the club for that week’s session.<br><br>Children are invited to explore the world of science through stories, discussion, and hands-on discovery. Each week, students will read a carefully selected picture book with science themes such as nature, weather, animals, and space. After the reading, children will participate in a guided book discussion to build comprehension, vocabulary, and communication skills. We will then bring the story to life with a hands-on science experiment that connects directly to the book.<br>This small-group club encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning in a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate environment.<br><br>-If your child is unable to attend, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid being charged. Sessions missed without 24 hours’ notice will be charged, as staffing and materials are reserved.

3rd-5th Graphic Novel Book Club

Each week, students will explore a graphic novel or selected chapters together, then gather for a guided group discussion where they can share ideas, favorite moments, and connections to the story. We’ll wrap up each session with a hands-on activity, such as drawing comics, creating characters, or playing story-based games that ties into the book and keeps things fun and engaging.<br>Graphic novels are fast-paced, visual, and exciting, making this club a great fit for both avid readers and kids who don’t always see themselves as “book lovers.”
